Chinese Tutor - Teaching students for all ages

As a native Chinese speaker with tutoring experience and a strong passion for language education, I enjoy helping students build confidence and achieve meaningful progress in their learning journey.

In addition to tutoring English to high school students, I have extensive experience teaching Chinese to non-native speakers. Most notably, I spent around eighteen months helping one of my closest friends in the UK learn Mandarin from complete beginner level. Through structured lessons, personalised learning materials, regular speaking practice and continuous feedback, he progressed to holding everyday conversations comfortably in Chinese and developed foundational reading skills. I also supported him throughout his Chinese language studies and his successful application to study Chinese at the University of Oxford.

My teaching approach focuses on patience, encouragement and adapting lessons to each student's goals and learning style. I believe language learning should be practical, engaging and rewarding, helping students build confidence while making steady progress.

Alongside my teaching experience, my professional background has strengthened my communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. I am comfortable creating lesson plans, preparing learning materials, tracking student progress and maintaining clear communication with students and parents.
