I tutor English, maths and science at primary level, and EFL for children and adults. Teaching for me is a delight because each student is different and learning is always a journey. I began classroom teaching at the age of 23. After that I worked as a fine artist, a writer/illustrator and a documentary film maker across Africa, and also in Asia, Europe and the USA. As a scientific journalist, I worked for BBC Worldwide, and SciDevNet among other clients. I also have 2 dyslexic sons. Returning to teaching, I now find I am drawing on my past experiences all the time. For the last few years I have been working with children between the ages of 6 and 16. I have also been teaching EFL for adults. I assess and support each student from where-ever they are starting when we meet, by designing lessons for their needs and allowing them to see the stories behind the work we cover. I have been tutoring in English, maths and science which are all part of everyday life. Helping my students find the excitement and joy in learning continues to be an honour.
