As your private tutor, I will tailor my German, French, Spanish or EFL lessons to meet your invididual needs, taking into account your level in the language, as well as your personal goals (examination preparation, meeting professional requirements or simply learning for fun).

In every lesson, I try to cover all four skill areas of listening, reading, speaking and writing, though the aim is very much to focus on building your confidence when communicating in the language. With this in mind, I seek to use as much target language as possible, which is not to say that English explanations will not be given from time to time, especially when dealing with new grammar.

I use a wide range of teaching materials, including past papers, issued by the UK examination boards as appropriate, as well as various textbooks and online resources, depending on my students' needs, as well as their strengths and areas for development.

Whether I teach you face-to face (in the Nottingham area) or online, using Zoom, Teams or whatever other platform is preferred, you will find my lessons relaxed and informal, as my intention is always to create an environment in which my learners feel at ease, thereby increasing their confidence when it comes to expressing themselves in a foreign language which, for many people, can be a really scary experience.

You can also expect thorough preparation before every lesson and regular, positive feedback on your progress, not only based on your performance in lessons, but also measured through homework tasks set after each class, including vocabulary tests.
