Science tutor teaches primary students as well GCSE students

Advert description
Hi! I’m Disha, a postgraduate student at the University of Nottingham with a background in Psychology and strong experience working with children in educational settings. I offer Science tutoring for students from Primary up to GCSE level, helping them understand key concepts clearly and develop genuine curiosity about how the world works.

My approach is simple: I focus on building understanding, not memorisation. I use everyday examples, visuals, and interactive explanations to make even the toughest topics easy to grasp. I’ve worked with students of different learning styles and always aim to create a calm, encouraging space where they can ask questions confidently.

I also speak Hindi and Bengali, which helps me connect better with multilingual learners who are building confidence in English.

If your child needs support in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, or just a boost in their scientific thinking, I’d be happy to guide them step by step toward stronger results and greater confidence.

My lessons are designed to make Science both understandable and enjoyable. I focus on creating a relaxed, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas. Each session is tailored to the student’s level and learning style, whether they’re in primary school building basic scientific understanding or preparing for GCSE exams.

I usually start with a short discussion or real-life example to connect the topic to something familiar. Then we break down the concept step by step using visuals, interactive explanations, and practice questions. I often incorporate diagrams, videos, and simple experiments (where possible) to make learning hands-on and memorable.

Since my sessions are online, I make full use of tools like screen sharing, digital whiteboards, and interactive quizzes to keep lessons dynamic and engaging. I also provide structured notes, recap sheets, and regular feedback to track progress and identify areas that need reinforcement.

My goal is not just to help students achieve better grades, but to help them think like young scientists, to question, explore, and truly understand how things work. With my background in Psychology and experience supporting children in school environments, I bring patience, empathy, and creativity into every lesson.

I also speak Hindi and Bengali, which helps me support multilingual students who may need extra language clarity while learning Science in English.
