I am a friendly, enthusiastic and highly experienced Art teacher with 30 years of teaching experience.

I am a qualified Art teacher with extensive experience teaching a wide range of ages, abilities and learning needs. I have held positions including Head of Art and have considerable experience teaching GCSE Art, supporting students with coursework, developing portfolios and preparing for assessments. My approach to teaching is friendly, encouraging and creative. I believe that everyone has artistic potential, and my aim is to help each student discover and develop their individual strengths. I tailor lessons to suit personal interests, learning styles and goals, whether that involves learning to draw, improving painting techniques, experimenting with mixed media or developing more sophisticated artistic ideas. Online lessons will combine clear demonstrations, practical activities, creative challenges and constructive feedback. Students will be encouraged to experiment, ask questions and develop their own artistic style at a pace that suits them. For GCSE students, I can provide specialist support with sketchbook development, artist research, experimentation, annotation, composition and final outcomes, helping them understand assessment objectives and improve the quality of their coursework. Above all, I want my students to feel relaxed, inspired and confident. I believe Art should be enjoyable, and I take great pleasure in seeing students grow in both ability and self-belief.
