I was a teaching intern for a year during my studies as a vet student, learning alongside professors in various teaching styles and approaches. From this, I learnt to break complex topics into manageable steps, use clinical examples to reinforce understanding, and encourage active participation through questions and discussion. I adapt my teaching style to suit the learner’s level and goals, check understanding regularly, and provide clear explanations without overloading information. My aim is to build confidence as well as knowledge, ensuring learners understand not just what to do, but why. I always have a smile on my face, and love to see students understand something that they were previously struggling. It is a dream of mine to pursue a lecturing role once I have gained experience as a vet for a few years.
