B.Ed. (Hons I have taught geography to GCSE and ALevel for over 40 years

My lessons are relaxed and I try to make sure that both the student and I can enjoy the sessions. As someone who works for Edexcel (Pearson) I am very experienced with the workings of GCSE Geography. I love to take on students who are not achieving their best in the classroom for whatever reason. I have found that the way I work with these students improved their self esteem and confidence in their ability to do well in the exam. Lessons are interactive which enables students to show what they can do. Every student is different and so the way we work together will be tailored to the needs of each student. Once I know what an individual student's weaknesses are we can address them with work which will help them to improve heir level of achievement. The work that I give a student to do and the work that we do in lessons will be personalised in terms of its level and its style. Students learn in different ways and they need different sorts of work to do. I like to think that I establish good working relationships with my students, built on trust and mutual respect. It is important that we work together to help the student to overcome their fears about the coming exams and build their confidence. I will work hard to make this happen and I expect the student to do the same. Together we can go forward and help the student to succeed,
