I am a UK qualified Science teacher and leader who has degree in B.ed Science majoring in Physics, with over 22 years’ experience working in the UK and bilingual schools in the Middle East. I’m skilled in enquiry based learning and developing autonomous learners which are reflected in the ‘High Performance Learning’ approach which is at the core of teaching and learning. I am passionate about fostering both the academic achievement and well-being of all students, so that all can reach high levels of academic performance. I am a focused, energetic leader with an intense commitment to raising standards and to closing the achievement gaps; by delivering valuable learning opportunities that lead to great educational experiences to students whose life chances are often limited by social circumstances. I have sound understanding of strategies for academic achievement for all students ensuring that bother line students and even students below their target grade can achieve high grades. These strategies are inclusive of effective interventions, past papers, use of retrieval practices, personalised learning, providing meaningful feedback, use of data to inform planning, developing higher order thinking, producing responsible autonomous learners and use of enquiry-based learning.
My belief that education is about creating opportunity and improving life chances for all has shaped my teaching and leadership career. My professional experience encompasses passion for my subject along with a relentless focus on ensuring students of all abilities and backgrounds are challenged, supported and empowered to fulfil their potential and truly achieve excellence.
