I like to start with a short introduction, so the student and I can get to know each other. This means talking about my skills and expertise, my journey through studying, and then hearing the students journey and what they enjoy/find difficult. We then have a broad look in the first lesson of what topics are weaknesses and from there we make a plan on what to cover. My lessons tend to cover the theory, quizzes and activities for students to test themselves (active recall), as well as working through past paper questions and marking them together to highlight strengths and weaknesses.
