I am a private tutor who works online and I would say that my key focus when teaching maths is to always apply fundamental concepts rather than learning them off by heart. For instance with certain integrals I like to show why these work with specific expressions rather than just teach the student a method of memorisation to solve it. I teach online using my Ipad and an interface that allows screen sharing such as GoodNotes
