Experienced English and Maths online tutor for EYFS and KS1

A little bit about me.

I have taught in an independent School for 17 years. I have an array of experience in teaching in a classroom, online and face to face. I currently tutor students online from China and Doha as well as teaching pupils face to face.

My teaching approach is very much student centred. I believe that all pupils have their own strengths and barriers to learning and in order to create confidence and consequently obtain the best results for the children, you must plan with their interests and experiences in mind. Many children come to me as they struggle to understand certain aspects of learning and this has damaged their confidence. Therefore, I feel it is as equally important to address these issues alongside the academic learning, to obtain the best outcomes for the student. After all, a happy student is an engaged student and an engaged student will learn! Therefore in my lessons we have fun. The students are encouraged to share their interests. For example, I have one pupil who loves all things cars. Therefore a lot of his creative writing and grammar will be car orientated. I also select car related comprehensions for him to complete both fiction and non fiction. This way he is enthusiastic about his lessons and we achieve better results.
