Advert description
I am currently a BA level Music degree student, specialising in guitar and vocals, with an advanced knowledge of Music Theory.
I have been working in the music industry as a guitarist and vocalist for a number of years, performing in bands pubs and bars, and at wedding and corporate events.
I am also a practicing community musician, having worked mentoring groups of students of all ages and abilities, most notably in primary and secondary schools, alongside additional support needs groups. I currently work as a freelance community mentor, contracted through East Lothian Councils Arts Service.
I am fully PVG checked and fully insured through the musician's union, having both Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurances.
My lessons are all about choice for my students, if you have set goals and areas you would like to focussing on, that's great! If not, its no problem together we will build a plan tailored to your interests in pursuing your interests in guitar playing, singing, music theory, or all three! Or if you don't want to commit to a lesson plan, that ok too, book a lesson whenever you feel like it and we can work on whatever you like at that time.. My lessons are all about you and what you want to get out of them.
I am happy to cover almost any genre but specialise in Blues, Country, Soul, Rock, Pop and Jazz accompiniment. To be fully transparent, I do not teach any Metal genres.
Your lesson plan can be a rigorous or as relaxed as you wish. For me, its all about you enjoying the process and feeling comfortable and proud of your results!
I am happy to work through graded levels, such as rock school or trinity, simply focus on learning through your favourite music or using my experience as a musician to create a personalised plan which suits your specific goals.
A typical lesson would last one hour, however I am flexible to shorten or extend that time at your convenience. Lesson Times can be changed to 45 minutes for £20 or to 1 hour and 30 minutes for £30
