Advert description
I am a German native speaker who has many years' experience teaching at all levels, ranging from children aged 3 to retirees in their 70s. Given that I came from the South of Germany as a young adult to St Andrews University to study Psychology, I understand first-hand what it is like to learn another language! My degree in Psychology has not only given me an insight into the different challenges neurodivergent learners face, but also enabled me to advise my students on learning strategies backed by research.
My approach is to make learning as engaging and enjoyable as possible, to build confidence and to encourage independent learning as much as possible. Whenever I can make a positive difference to a learner, I am delighted.
Over the years, I have helped many GCSE, A-level and university students maximise their grades and can provide many references (or arrange for direct communication with previous students). Those students have come from all local schools in Milton Keynes, Buckingham, Towcester, Wing and Aylesbury as well as further afield. Many of my online students have been studying at private schools such as Westminster School, Wycombe Abbey, Haberdashers, Magdalen College School, Rugby, Cheltenham Ladies College as well as grammar schools such as Colchester, Chesham and Carlisle, to name a few. During my time teaching, which includes a period at a secondary school, I have helped many individuals with special educational needs such as autism, dyslexia and ADHD, as well as gifted students.
Additionally, I have expertise in supporting children of German native speakers to develop their language skills, both through online and face-to-face teaching.
