Experienced head of Geography with over 10 years tutoring experience

I have taught for 14 years in a number of settings, 8 years in selective grammar schools rated within the top 50 nationally, the private sector and now in a comprehensive. In addition, I have been both an examiner for A level and GCSE Geography where I have learnt what the expectations of the examiners are and I am happy to share this with prospective students.

In my teaching, I still find it satisfying when students discover something new or the 'penny drops' on a difficult concept.
My degree is Physical Geography and my specialist areas of Glaciation, Weather and Climate and Tectonic Hazards. On the human side I really find Superpowers and Place interesting as it is forever changing in our world.

I am flexible with how and what I deliver. I usually ask a week in advance what you would like to cover, this may reflect what you have done in school that week, or using a topic checklist to identify weaker areas. However, in the lesson I am easily able to adapt what we cover based on your emerging needs.

I am comfortable with all GCSE specifications as well as AQA & Edexcel A level specifications. I would not rule out other exam boards as I would be able to research their requirements.
