I own my own salon, with 18 years salon experience under my belt. I find it’s best to teach students a new skill via demonstration then allowing them to give it a go. I always give positive and negative feedback allowing students to understand and grow their skill.

I lack in experience for this particular subject. However I have taught many of students about hairdressing and produced multiple capable stylists.
I use methods such as Q&A while working, and demonstrating services. I get the students to critique their own work and each others.
During my AET course I have been creating a PowerPoint presentation for a micro lesson to be taught online for an assessment. This micro lesson is on hairdressing a subject I know well.
I find that having a good working relationship and report with the students get me the best result.
During the CAVA I had to go and do an assessment in person, by assessing a student on a business administration level 2 course a subject I know little about but I found it easy to pick up and successfully assessed the students on that day without much guidance.
