Advert description
With over 20 years’ experience in education, I have worked with children, young people and adults in secondary schools in a variety of roles, one of which was as a lead coach. After seeing the benefits of coaching students, and indeed, having been coached myself, this led me to train as a life coach.
As a certified Life Coach, I specialise in Mindset Coaching. I have over 15 years of experience of working with children and young people to develop the mindset skills they need to look after their own mental wellbeing such as courage, confidence, self-awareness, and resilience to overcome challenges.
My experience in both teaching and coaching has given me a unique skillset to empower people to manage their mind better. I have a natural ability to make positive connections with people and help them to support their personal development.
Mindset coaching is a form of coaching which allows young people to change their perspective and outlook on life by becoming more aware of how they think, feel and behave. It is an approach that I have used with children, young people and adults in and out of the classroom to help them move from a place of struggle to a place of strength.
My coaching sessions are usually done 1-2-1 or in small groups once a week for an hour. By combining mindset coaching with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy CBT) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), children, young people and adults develop the skills they need to handle stress, cope with challenges and look after their own mental health and wellbeing by building mental strength. This gives them the confidence to identify unhelpful thoughts, regulate their emotions and take action to become the best versions of themselves.
Being mentally stronger also has a positive impact on academic achievement. When children and young people feel happy and adequately supported through mindset coaching, it increases their self-confidence and emotional wellbeing too.
Mindset coaching has helped so many to develop a great sense of purpose by helping them to understand who they are and what they want in life. It is a short-term intervention that has a long-term impact.
My mission is to reach out to more children and young people who may benefit from mindset coaching to help them excel to their full potential.
