Advert description
🌍 Hi, I'm Lucy – an experienced NHS nurse and certified English tutor helping international healthcare professionals and learners communicate with clarity and confidence.
With over 13 years of experience in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) and more than 600 classroom teaching hours in Sri Lanka, I specialise in helping students master English for healthcare settings, everyday conversation, and exam preparation like OET.
👩⚕️ My background in nursing (Ophthalmology, wound care, community, and acute care) has given me a deep understanding of the language used in real clinical environments—from patient consultations to multidisciplinary team discussions. If you're a nurse, doctor, or allied health professional planning to work in an English-speaking country, I can help you feel confident using the language required for interviews, patient care, documentation, and exams like the Occupational English Test (OET).
🎓 I hold a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Nursing, and I'm currently completing my Advanced TEFL Diploma (180 hrs), along with specialist awards in Teaching Business English and Teaching Online/One-to-One. I also hold a Level 3 Award in Education and Training and have taught intermediate to advanced English learners in group settings of up to 25 students.
💬 In class, I focus on confidence, fluency, and accuracy. Lessons are interactive, supportive, and always adapted to your individual goals—whether you're preparing for a career move, planning to relocate, or simply want to speak more naturally in English.
🌱 I’ve helped many learners improve grammar, pronunciation, and functional English for daily life. I also create realistic role-plays, medical scenarios, and vocabulary practice tailored to your field or learning needs.
✨ Let’s build your skills, confidence, and voice—step by step. Book a trial and tell me what your goals are. I’m here to help you reach them.
