lets say a session is an hour long. the first 5-10 minutes would be recall from last session including any question the student has for me about that topic. the next 30-40 minutes i would introduce the next topic and teach the student by doing worked examples with them and making sure they understand fully as well as them asking any questions they have. the remaining time would be spent doing timed exam questions or practice questions based on where they are in school and how comfortable they are.
