Artist. Educator. Illustrator. Empowering young people to think creatively, take risks and find confidence through art

As a Lecturer in Illustration and an award-winning professional illustrator, I bring both extensive teaching experience and an active creative practice to the classroom. I am passionate about inspiring young people to develop confidence in their artistic abilities, encouraging curiosity, creativity and resilience through drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, visual storytelling and experimentation. I also work as a freelance creative facilitator at The Lowry, MediaCityUK, delivering engaging workshops for primary and secondary school students. These experiences have strengthened my ability to adapt my teaching to different age groups, nurture creativity and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Alongside my teaching, I have illustrated numerous children's books for leading publishers including HarperCollins, Quarto, Thames & Hudson and Firefly Press. My work has been recognised through nominations for the Yoto Carnegie Medal for Illustration and the Klaus Flugge Prize, experiences that enable me to provide students with valuable insight into contemporary creative industries.
My teaching is student-centred, inclusive and supportive, creating an environment where learners feel confident to take creative risks whilst developing strong technical skills and critical thinking. I believe high expectations, positive relationships and engaging practical lessons are key to helping every student achieve their potential.
