Advert description
In high school I was part of a group who helped the year 7s adapt to the new environment and studies particularly English, I encountered a challenging situation when trying to assist a shy and reserved student who was struggling to grasp their studies.
Initially, it was difficult to connect with the shy student and encourage them to open up during our study sessions. They seemed hesitant to ask questions or share their thoughts, making it challenging to effectively assist them with their learning.
To overcome this hurdle, I took a patient and compassionate approach. I actively listened to their concerns and made efforts to create a comfortable and supportive learning environment where they could feel at ease.
I adjusted my tutoring style to cater to their individual needs, incorporating more interactive and creative activities to engage their interest. This approach gradually helped the student become more receptive and active during our study sessions.
As the student began to show progress, I praised their efforts and celebrated even the smallest achievements. This positive reinforcement boosted their confidence and motivated them to participate more confidently in our study sessions.
Relating this experience to a tutoring job, encountering shy or reserved younger students is common. As a tutor, I learned the importance of being patient and understanding, tailoring my approach to suit each student's personality and learning style.
Organizational abilities streamline tutoring sessions, while a positive attitude fosters enthusiasm for learning. Balancing tutoring commitments with my studies showcases reliability. Building strong relationships and dedication to continuous learning are vital aspects of my tutoring approach.
