I am the proud holder of a CELTA and an English Masters degree, and currently work at a school as a Senior Teacher.

I’m responsible for:
• Involvement in Public Relations, if and when necessary, such as advertising the school through an interview which have subsequently been shown on YouTube;
• Delivering outlined modules as prescribed in a syllabus timetable;
• Preparing notes and materials in a professional manner at least one day prior to delivering lessons, as well as liaising with co-teachers;
• Administering and correcting regular assessments;
• Attending events that promote the Institute’s courses;
• Attending team meetings, participating at development workshops, having performance feedback meetings; and leading sessions at annual continuous professional development two-day events;
• Acting in the best interests of the company’s reputation;
• Advertising extra-curricular events and mental health workshops by making announcements and hanging posters around the building;
• Providing feedback to students in a timely and constructive manner to support their academic development on the programme;
• Ensuring that students are adequately prepared for the appropriate exit examination (TIE, FCE, CAE, and IELTS);
• Providing feedback to management to support the academic development and implementation of the programme and the progression of the students
• Facilitating students’ change of level as they grow in proficiency;
• Assisting new and long-serving teachers with accumulating extra resources with their lessons, manoeuvring through the prescribed course materials; and dealing with conflict with management, other staff members, and/or with students;
• Participating in new programme development, programmatic reviews and validations; and:
• Creating an Irish culture syllabus that immersed students in the knowledge of our nation’s history, cultural norms, native languages, politics, myths, movies, and literature, so as to expand students’ awareness and appreciation of this country.

As a Senior Teacher, the other teachers come to me for advice on materials, syllabus delivery, queries regarding policies, and issues that they have with their students in the classroom.
