Advert description
Success isn't about working harder. It's about working smarter.
As an experienced and qualified tutor and Head of Department, I help students develop the study habits, organisational systems, and mindset strategies needed to achieve their academic goals with less stress, more motivation and greater confidence.
Together, we'll identify what's holding you back and implement practical, evidence-informed techniques including:
✅ Time management systems such as the Pomodoro Technique and time-blocking
✅ Goal-setting using SMART targets and the GROW coaching model
✅ Revision and memory strategies based on retrieval practice and chunked learning
✅ Motivation and accountability techniques
✅ Organisation and planning systems for coursework and deadlines
✅ Confidence building and overcoming procrastination
✅ Effective and ethical use of AI and digital tools to support learning
Whether you're struggling to stay organised, lacking motivation, feeling overwhelmed by workload, or wanting to improve your grades, I'll help you build personalised strategies that create lasting results and greater independence as a learner.
What sets my approach apart is that the strategies I teach are informed by educational research rather than trends or quick fixes. Drawing on my experience as a lecturer, Head of Department, and qualified teacher, I help students understand how learning actually works. This includes evidence-based approaches such as retrieval practice, spaced repetition, metacognitive reflection, self-regulated learning, cognitive load management, and structured coaching models. The result is a personalised system that helps students learn more effectively, work more independently, and build habits that support long-term success.
I pride myself on creating a supportive, patient, and non-judgemental learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing at their own pace. Having worked with learners of all abilities, including those with SEND, ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other neurodivergent profiles, I understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to learning. I hold qualifications in working with those with learning differences and take time to understand each student's strengths, challenges, and preferred ways of learning, adapting strategies, resources, and coaching techniques accordingly.
