Advert description
I am an experienced Religious Studies teacher and tutor with over 15 years of classroom experience across Key Stages 3–5. Having taught in a variety of schools and served as Head of Department, I understand the challenges students face when approaching subjects such as philosophy, ethics, and religion. My goal is to make Religious Studies engaging, accessible, and academically rewarding, while building students’ confidence in their own abilities.
I specialise in preparing students for both GCSE (AQA) and A Level (OCR) Religious Studies. My tutoring is tailored to each learner, whether they need help grasping key concepts, revising effectively, or refining exam technique. I break down complex ideas into manageable steps, provide clear structures for essay writing, and ensure students understand how to meet exam board requirements. With a track record of helping students improve grades and reach their potential, I focus not only on knowledge but also on the skills needed for success.
Beyond the classroom, I am the creator of the Faith and Focus Podcast, a revision and study support resource designed for students of Religious Studies. The podcast has become a tool for many learners to revise key topics in Christianity, Philosophy of Religion, Ethics, and Developments in Christian Thought, offering memorable explanations and strategies for tackling exam questions.
My approach is supportive and encouraging. I aim to foster critical thinking, curiosity, and confidence in tackling challenging topics such as the problem of evil, the existence of God, ethical theories, and the role of religion in society. Each session is carefully planned to meet individual goals, whether that means mastering a tricky topic, practising timed exam responses, or building long-term understanding.
If you are looking for a tutor who combines subject expertise with a friendly, focused teaching style, I would be delighted to support your journey in Religious Studies.
