I'm a Mathematics student at the University of Warwick (Discrete Mathematics MEng, predicted First Class Honours), with a strong personal academic record: 99% in A-level Further Mathematics (298/300) and 98% in A-level Mathematics (295/300) — the highest scores at my sixth form for both subjects — alongside 11 grade 9s and a grade 8 at GCSE, including top scores in Mathematics and Computer Science. I've also achieved UKMT Gold Award four times between 2021 and 2025, and a Merit in the Andrew Jobbings Senior Kangaroo, the highest score at my sixth form.

I have over 250 hours' experience as a self-employed Mathematics tutor since September 2023, teaching GCSE and A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics, as well as TMUA preparation. I've helped students achieve substantial improvements, including moving from a D to an A at GCSE, a fail to a B and a D to an A at A-level, and raising a TMUA score from 3.0 to 6.7. Over half of my client base of 10+ students has come through word-of-mouth referrals. I was also selected as one of 4 tutors from around 100 applicants to deliver small-group tuition at my former sixth form, contributing to a 47% average increase in exam performance.

My teaching starts with the fundamentals of a topic, a guided example, then the student attempting questions themselves, with support scaled back as their confidence grows. I adapt my style, pace and explanations to each student, finding whichever method they learn best with. I use active recall and recap questions to check retention of earlier topics, not just the current one, and guided problem solving to build confidence tackling unfamiliar questions. For students who understand the content but lose marks to careless errors, I focus on practical fixes: calculator technique, pacing, and attention to detail. Once we've covered the content for a paper, I set timed past papers and go through them, focusing on recurring issues and timing. My focus throughout is on measurable, trackable results.
