I want to help people of foreign background get a strong grasp of English, especially coming from the same background

As someone who came to the UK not speaking English and later achieved an A* in GCSE English, I understand the challenges and opportunities of learning a new language firsthand. I would approach teaching with empathy, patience, and structure—focusing on building confidence as well as skill. My teaching style would combine conversational English, grammar fundamentals, vocabulary building, and pronunciation practice. I’d tailor lessons to the student’s level and goals, using real-life topics (such as current events, daily routines, or job-related language) to make learning relevant and practical. I also believe in integrating reading and writing exercises in a fun and accessible way, encouraging students to express themselves and not be afraid of making mistakes. Most importantly, I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel safe to learn and grow—just like I once did.
