Advert description
Hi, I'm Mohamed, a first-year Mechanical Engineering student at University College London (UCL). I achieved AAA at A-Level (A* in Mathematics, A* in Physics, and A in Chemistry), and I also achieved high GCSE grades (9-9 in Science and 8 in Mathematics).
At the start of Year 13, I was at a D grade in Mathematics, but by changing my study methods and focusing on exam technique, I turned it around to achieve an A*. This experience gave me a deep understanding of what it takes to climb from failing grades to top marks.
In the past two academic years, I have worked as a Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics tutor in both 1-to-1 and classroom settings. During that time, I helped students build confidence in tricky subjects and significantly improve their grades. Many of my previous students started from grades 5 and 6 and ended the year with 8s and 9s.
I teach in an interactive way. Lecturing does not work for maths and science, so instead I break down complex ideas into simple steps, working alongside the student. I start by finding the gaps in your understanding, so we do not waste time covering things you already know and can focus on filling in the gaps in your knowledge. I focus heavily on exam practice and past papers, rather than just teaching content, as that is the only way to retain information in the long term.
I see myself as an academic trainer rather than a conventional teacher. Every student learns differently, and my goal is to guide students on how to train for their exams and how to structure their study time both during our sessions and in their independent study. I make sure that Physics is engaging, clear, and stress-free. If you need help catching up on key topics, preparing for upcoming exams, or are simply pushing for top grades, I will support you every step of the way.
