Advert description
I hold a First Class Honours in Art History and Classical Studies from the University of St Andrews which has given me the knowledge and skill set to teach art history. My lessons are suited to students at GCSE, A-Level, and undergraduate level who are studying art history, fine art, or related creative subjects, as well as curious learners with a personal interest in contemporary or seventeenth to nineteenth century art. I can support students with essay writing and art criticism, visual analysis of artworks and movements, understanding specific topics such as environmental art, photography as an art form, critical approaches to art history, and non-Western contemporary art traditions, as well as exam preparation and coursework development. I am equally happy working with complete beginners who simply want to explore contemporary art for the first time.
My experience and skills include:
First Class Honours in Art History and Classical Studies, University of St Andrews.
Specialist modules in environmental art, photography, Arab art, and art criticism.
Strong ability to analyse and contextualise artworks across different movements, cultures, and media.
Experience writing in-depth critical essays and art historical arguments to a high academic standard.
Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and accessibly.
Familiarity with a wide range of contemporary artists, movements, and critical theories.
Comfortable working online and adapting explanations to different learning styles and levels.
