Advert description
When I tutor a younger student in GCSE maths, I start by checking what they already understand so I know exactly where to begin. I break each topic into small, simple steps and explain everything using clear language they can follow. First, I demonstrate a couple of examples and talk through my thinking so they can see the method in action. Then I give them similar questions to try, guiding them with prompts instead of giving the answer straight away. As they get more confident, I reduce the help and let them work independently, correcting mistakes together in a calm, supportive way. I also use real-life examples or visuals when it helps the topic make more sense. Finally, I end the session with a quick recap to reinforce what they’ve learned and check they’re ready for the next step.
