With a background in pharmacy and medicine, I apply a logical, step-by-step approach to teaching mathematics—similar to how I train trainee pharmacists in clinical reasoning and accurate calculations. I emphasise understanding over memorisation, helping students grasp the "why" behind mathematical concepts. My teaching style involves breaking down problems into simple, manageable steps, using real-life examples from healthcare (such as dosages, rates, and data interpretation) to make abstract concepts more concrete and relevant. I promote active problem-solving and regular practice, while providing clear feedback to help students improve accuracy and confidence. My experience mentoring trainee healthcare professionals has strengthened my ability to explain complex topics patiently and clearly, which is especially valuable in supporting students who find maths challenging.
