Advert description
I am a patient, enthusiastic, and student-focused Mathematics tutor with experience teaching Further Mathematics and supporting learners through personalised instruction. I teach primary and secondary school students by breaking complex mathematical concepts into simple, logical, and easy-to-understand steps.
My teaching approach combines proven online tutoring techniques such as interactive questioning, guided practice, screen sharing, digital whiteboards, worked examples, and immediate feedback. I begin lessons by identifying the student’s current level and learning needs, then adapt the pace and difficulty accordingly. I encourage students to explain their thinking, ask questions, and attempt problems independently rather than simply memorising procedures.
For online lessons, I can effectively use platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet, together with digital whiteboards and screen-sharing tools to make lessons interactive. I also use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and other digital learning resources to prepare exercises, explanations, revision materials, and practice questions. Where appropriate, I incorporate visual examples, diagrams, quizzes, and step-by-step problem-solving activities to maintain engagement.
I support students with homework, revision, examination preparation, and areas where they may be struggling. I use regular formative assessment through short questions and practice exercises to check understanding during lessons. I then provide constructive feedback, correct misconceptions, and revisit difficult areas when necessary.
My engineering background has also strengthened my mathematical reasoning, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and ability to apply Mathematics to practical situations. Most importantly, I aim to create a friendly and supportive online learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and developing confidence in their mathematical abilities.
My goal is not only to help students obtain better grades, but also to help them understand Mathematics, develop effective problem-solving skills, and become more confident and independent learners.
