Advert description
I’m a UCL MSc student in Clinical Mental Health Sciences (completing August), with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Bristol and an A* in A-Level Psychology. I have over nine years’ experience tutoring; I’ve helped GCSE and A-Level students across AQA, Edexcel and OCR build confidence and achieve their target grades. I cover the full curriculum: cognitive, behavioural and biological psychology; social and developmental psychology; psychopathology, approaches and issues/debates; research methods and experimental design (including statistics, data handling and ethics); plus applied areas such as clinical, educational and forensic psychology.
My teaching is structured, calm and exam-focused. I begin with a quick diagnostic to identify strengths and gaps, build secure AO1 knowledge, then layer AO2 application and AO3 evaluation using clear explanations and up-to-date research examples. Heavy content is made manageable with concise, dual-coded notes and simple scaffolds; we practise with past papers, map answers to mark schemes and use retrieval and spaced practice so learning sticks. I adapt to different learning profiles (including autism, ADHD and specific learning difficulties) and teach online 1:1 or in small groups. After each lesson, students receive targeted notes and a short action plan, and parents get a brief progress update. Standard sessions are 60 minutes (45 or 90 available), with flexible scheduling around school and exam timelines.
