I am a native Mandarin speaker with private tutoring experience and proficiency in both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

My lessons will be shaped around your goals, interests and current level of Mandarin. Whether you’re starting from scratch or building on what you already know, we’ll work at a pace that suits you. We can focus on pronunciation and tones, everyday conversation, vocabulary, reading or writing. I’ll explain new ideas clearly in English or Mandarin, using comparisons between the two languages where helpful. You’ll practise through conversations and examples relevant to your interests, with constructive feedback and regular revision. My experience tutoring students aged 12–18 has taught me to adapt my explanations to each learner. You’ll have space to ask questions, make mistakes and practise without pressure, so you can build confidence and use what you learn beyond our lessons.
