Advert description
I teach English through structured, evidence-based methods grounded in Rosenshine's Principles of Instruction, breaking concepts into clear, manageable steps, modelling extensively, and using high-frequency questioning to check understanding throughout every lesson. My lessons are designed around how memory actually works: I embed new language, vocabulary and grammar through spaced repetition, retrieval practice and interleaved review, so that students retain what they learn rather than forgetting it between sessions. I have nearly twenty years of experience teaching English to diverse learners including EAL students in inner-city London schools, and I have trained teachers at UCL's Institute of Education in evidence-based pedagogy. My lessons are aimed at teenagers and adults at all proficiency levels, from learners building foundational English skills through to advanced students preparing for academic writing, university applications or professional communication. Every lesson is tailored to the individual learner's goals, pace and starting point.
