Native English speaker with BA Honours English Literature

I am an Honours graduate of English Literature, and since completing my degree I worked in marketing until 2020, where written and verbal communication, along with pristine attention to detail are vital to a successful career in this industry.

Since 2020 I have worked in social care, specialising in domestic violence. Written and verbal communication are equally as important in this field, but in a different sense to marketing. Having challenging conversations with clients where I need to carefully consider my words and approach, often with clients whose first language is not English, is my day-to-day. Working with vulnerable young people and having to quickly decide on the most effective way to communicate with them while building trust is a key component of my job.

I now want to use the transferrable skills I have learned in my previous roles towards a new challenge, and believe my meticulous approach to the English language as well as my knowledge of British social etiquette will be hugely helpful to my students.
