My teaching approach begins by identifying whether a student is struggling with any particular topics. I assess their strengths and areas for development before creating a personalised learning journey that aligns with both their individual needs and the topics they are studying during their academic year. Each lesson is carefully tailored to the student’s ability. I begin with a starter activity that reviews prior knowledge and checks understanding of previously taught topics. I then introduce the main concept by modelling worked examples and explaining the methods step by step. Once the student has observed the process, they complete a similar example independently while I provide guidance and support where needed. As the lesson progresses, I provide a range of practice questions that gradually increase in difficulty, allowing students to build confidence and develop independence. To keep lessons engaging, I incorporate quizzes and interactive activities that reinforce learning in an enjoyable way. To support learning outside of lessons, I set appropriate homework that consolidates the concepts covered. I also carry out regular assessments to monitor progress and identify any gaps in understanding so that future lessons can be adapted accordingly. In addition, I conduct folder checks to ensure students keep their notes organised, neat and up to date. Encouraging good organisational skills helps students revise more effectively and take greater ownership of their learning
