My approach is student based. Since I suffer from a few disabilities myself, I understand each student has a different way of learning. I like to draw on student experience first and decide which technique is best. For instance, I had a student with severe ADHD who struggled to learn vocabulary until we played some fun games of charades and she passed her test with flying colors. Some students, like myself, benefit from more traditional techniques like note taking and bullet pointing. My personal approach, and favorite method, is breaking down a task into small chronological steps then asking a critical question about each stage of the topic to gain a better and deeper understanding of the academic intention.
