I have some experience as a self-employed tutor when I was completing my GCSEs. My approach to lessons is firstly to speak to the student and understand what they're struggling with - which topics need the most focus. I would then go through the content with them using my own notes and online resources which I would send before the lesson for the student to have. After going through the content, I would do interactive testing with the student, giving them questions to answer and coaching them through any that they find difficult - consistently reminding them of the content we've gone through and how they need to apply it to different questions.
