I give personalised lessons to secure grade 9s for GCSE Italian students

Through my experience at GCSE, a memorisation-and-practice structure was a crucial. I would start each lesson with a recall task like a quiz to recap what was learnt the previous lesson. Then I would introduce the content with powerpoint slides and examples, encouraging clear notes to be taken to help simplify future revision. Once absorbed, I would provide worksheets and exercises to practice with the new material. This could be fill-in-the-gaps tasks, reading and comprehension, or GCSE style questions. With the remaining time, I would wrap up the lesson with a summary task where the student could apply what they have learnt with a piece of writing. Depending on the student’s strengths and weaknesses, I would design the next lesson to target areas in need of improvement and to fill in any knowledge gaps.
