Advert description
I help students in years 6-11 master GCSE and IGCSE English - from analysing Macbeth and an Inspector Calls to structuring past paper questions under exam pressure. I also prepare students for 11+ English and have worked regularly with neurodivergent learners, including students with dyslexia, ADHD and autism.
I'm a King's College London graduate (BA International Relations) with A*s in English and EPQ, and A grades in History and French.
I've been tutoring for three years across two London tutoring centres and my own private practice. My students consistently improve their grades - one of my Year 10 students went from a predicted 6 to a confirmed 8 in GCSE English Language in six months, and I boosted a Year 5's reading fluency noticeably in 8 weeks at a tutoring centre.
Every student gets a tailored plan after our first session. For GCSE students, that means working through the specific exam board (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC — all covered), practising past papers with detailed feedback, and building a set of go-to quotes and analytical frameworks for each set text. For 11+ students, we focus on comprehension, creative writing and exam technique with weekly timed practice.
For neurodivergent students: I've worked extensively with students who have dyslexia, ADHD and autism in a specialist centre setting. I adapt pacing, use multi-sensory techniques, and build lessons around what keeps each student engaged rather than forcing a standard structure.
International students welcome: I tutor IGCSE English students in the UAE, Singapore, Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia in their after-school slots (my afternoon/evening UK time). I work with all major exam boards including Cambridge IGCSE and Edexcel International.
