Friendly, experienced maths tutor helping students build confidence, understand concepts, and trust the process.

I have nearly 3+ years of experience tutoring university-level mathematics, as well as experience providing one-to-one maths and SAT preparation for high school students. I also currently work at Kumon, supporting students with their maths learning. I have a BSc (Hons) in Data Science with a minor in Mathematics from UBC and am currently studying for an MSc in Public Health at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. This background has given me a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, data analysis and quantitative problem-solving. My teaching style is patient, encouraging and tailored to each student. I break difficult topics into manageable steps, explain concepts in different ways when needed, and work through examples together rather than simply giving students the answer to help them build confidence. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes while learning. My goal is to help students genuinely understand what they’re doing become more independent problem solvers, which only comes with time and patience.
