Hi! My name is Eve Lodge. I've been a full-time maths tutor for the last 5 years. I hold a QTS (Qualified teacher status) and work with students from Primary to A-level. Whether your child needs learning support or exam preparation, I'm here to help. I also have experience in tutoring homeschoolers.

About my lessons:

• During the lessons, I aim to be kind, patient, and supportive to ensure my student feels comfortable

• I always double check understanding of the topic by giving assesment questions and problems to solve. This way, even if the student is hesitant to share their difficulties, I can still identify any issues and clarify anything

• I use a lot of analogies, real-life examples and diagrams to make my explanations simple and interesting

• All my lessons are planned and tailored to students' needs. After every class, students' strengths and weaknesses are noted and future sessions are designed accordingly

• I help my tutees see links between what they already know and the new • Iideas they are trying to understand, so that they gain a depth of understanding

• I often create personalised materials for my students - presentations, worksheets, and notes

• I conduct lessons on time. I rarely reschedule and almost never cancel planned sessions.
If I need to reschedule, I always inform in advance

• In the first lesson I thoroughly assess student's knowledge to identify any gaps and weak areas. After that, I usually explain some of aspects that are difficult for them in order to demonstrate my way of teaching-I always give feedback to parents after the trial lesson

• I assign homework once a week. The homework is later marked and commented on in detail outside of lessons

About GCSE / IGCSE preparation:

• I have experience working with students of all levels: helping some achieve a top grade and others quickly reach the standard pass (4 or 5)

• I have ample resources from different exam boards and know exactly how mark schemes work

• I provide in-depth help with exam techique which is just as important as maths knowledge
