Hello! My name is Eve Lodge. I'm a full-time maths tutor with over 5 years of experience. I hold a QTS (Qualified teacher status) and work with students from Primary to A-level. Whether your child needs learning support or exam preparation, I'm here to help. I also have experience in tutoring homeschoolers and people from different countries (Poland, Romania, India, Pakistan and others).

About my lessons:

• In my lessons, I strive to create a supportive environment where the student feels comfortable asking questions and making mistakes

• After covering each new block of material, I check for comprehension using assessment questions and problems to solve. This allows me to quickly pinpoint and effectively fill any learning gaps before moving forward

• I use a lot of analogies, real-life examples and diagrams to make my explanations simple and interesting

• My lessons are always planned beforehand. During each class, the student's strengths and areas of improvement are noted. Afterwards, I consider this information to plan the following session.

• I help my tutees see links between what they already know and the new material, so that they gain a deeper understanding of the subject.

• I assign personalized homework, specifically designed for each student. The homework is later checked and thoroughly commented on by me outside of the lessons

• I rarely reschedule and almost never cancel planned sessions.
If I need to reschedule, I always inform my students in advance

• During the first lesson, I usually conduct a detailed knowledge assessment. I check fundamental topics, as problems in these most often lead to a lack of understanding and poor academic performance. Afterwards, I always provide comprehensive feedback to both the student and their parents


About GCSE / IGCSE preparation:

• I have experience working with students of all levels: helping some achieve a top grade and others quickly reach the standard pass (4 or 5)

• I have ample resources from different exam boards and know exactly how mark schemes work

• I provide in-depth help with exam techique which is just as important as maths knowledge
