Advert description
I’ve spent 14 years in tech, first as a software engineer, then as CTO of a startup, and most recently as an Engineering Manager at DeepL. There I led a team of 9 engineers and later built a new track from scratch, working directly with the CTO, sales and account managers. I’ve hired and built teams, coached a senior engineer into a first manager role, helped another engineer get promoted to Staff level, and handled the hard parts too, like underperformance and team burnout.
My lessons are practical and built around your real situation. In our first session, we talk about where you are and what’s hard for you right now. From there, we work on the skills you actually need, for example:
- running useful 1:1s and giving honest, kind feedback
- handling difficult conversations and underperformance
- prioritising, delegating and saying no
- protecting your team (and yourself) from burnout
- working with stakeholders without getting lost in politics
Between sessions, you try things with your own team, and next time we look at what worked and what didn’t. No long lectures, no theory for its own sake. Just honest, experience-based guidance from someone who has been in your shoes.
