ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m a History undergraduate at UCL and a passionate English tutor who believes every student deserves access to high-quality education and the chance to reach their full potential. Coming from a socio-economic mobility background, I understand the value of opportunity and the difference that the right support can make. That’s why I love tutoring, helping students gain confidence, improve their skills, and discover that learning can actually be enjoyable! I’ve always loved English Language and Literature and achieved nine Grade 8–9s at GCSE, so I know exactly what examiners are looking for and how to approach the curriculum strategically.
MY TUTORING APPROACH
I specialise in 11+ and GCSE English, supporting students from primary through to secondary school. My lessons usually last 1–2 hours, depending on the student’s age, focus, and learning goals.
Each session is tailored to the student’s individual needs — I start by identifying strengths and areas to improve, then build lessons that combine skill development with confidence building.
I like to keep my lessons interactive and engaging, using:
1. Presentations to introduce key concepts clearly
2. Discussions to encourage critical thinking
3. Essay planning and writing practice to improve structure and clarity
4. Exam paper practice to build familiarity and reduce stress before exams
My teaching style is friendly, supportive, and motivating. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable and encouraged, so I always aim to make lessons enjoyable as well as productive.
STUDENT SUCCESS
One of my recent GCSE students improved from Grade 6s (at the beginning of Year 11) to Grade 8 and 9 in both English Language and Literature — proof that with the right guidance and consistent effort, big progress is possible.
WHO MY LESSONS ARE FOR
1. Primary school students preparing for the 11+ exams
2. Secondary school students working towards GCSE English Language or Literature
3. Anyone wanting to build confidence in writing, analysis, or exam technique
