Experienced, native English speaker tutor, grew up in United States and London, with a tailored approach to each student

Advert description
I have been working as a teaching assistant in a number of schools and as a personal tutor for over 6 years. I am currently in the process of getting a Bachelor’s degree at UCL in Psychology, with modules in Anatomy and Neuroscience, and I find that being in the education system myself gives me much greater empathy and understanding towards other students. It also serves a great advantage as I am up-to-date and highly familiar with the current curriculums, exam boards and exam requirements.

The first session is introductory so that you have an opportunity to explain what you would like to work on, or so that we can identify areas that need work together if you are unsure. The session is yours, and you understand your own needs and pace the best. Results are achieved when these needs are met.

I typically teach students from Year 9 - Year 13, but also have significant experience with younger children and can teach adults

My teaching of Psychology, French and English is fuelled by my personal connection and love for each subject:
- I chose to continue Psychology into higher education and currently work as an intern at a Cognitive Science and Decision making lab group within UCL
- I have been an incessant reader and writer, of both fictive and academic work, since I was little
- I have personal goals of becoming a polyglot, currently self-studying Mandarin. Sharing the wonder of being able to speak another language is one reason I decided to tutor French

Amazing, so understanding and patient. I finally found a tutor that did not rush or push me into a curriculum just to tick some boxes but actually put time into figuring out where I was struggling. I found Nicole before my sixth form mocks and at the time completely hated English lit, I could not understand what to look for in texts or how to organise my thoughts. I ended up really liking the subject and did really well with my A-levels. This is definitely someone who cares about sharing learning so that you understand the subject rather than just memorise it
