Experienced Maths Tutor for Primary, Secondary, GCSE and Alevel students

Advert description
I am currently a student studying at City University of London, Bayes Business School doing an Actuarial Science degree. The core modules of this degree are Financial Mathematics and Mathematics. I have a great aptitude for Mathematics, which lead to me choosing this degree. Not only do I enjoy teaching this subject, I also have a great subject knowledge. I achieved Grade 9 for GCSE Maths, Distinction for GCSE Further Maths and A* for Alevel Maths.

I believe I make a great tutor due to my experience. I have voluntarily taught Year 7 - Year 9 students during my lunchtimes in Secondary School, seen as I was appointed as a Maths Mentor in Year 10 and 11 by my Head of Year. I am currently tutoring GCSE Maths students as well as 11 plus students. I enjoy working with students as it is very rewarding when you see them achieve something great and feel confident while doing questions, especially after struggling with that topic area.

My lessons vary from different resources to different intensity of questions. I like to make my own worksheets, that are specifically catered to each individual student and their curriculum and exam board. My first lesson will normally consist of a small introduction and a short assessment, to see the level my student is currently peforming at. I will ask them for their own target grades and always work to achieve higher than that. I prefer to do lessons on Zoom, where I can share my screen and use my virtual whiteboard to go through questions together. I normally allow my students to use the whiteboards too, so I can see how they tackle questions and correct them as they go. The students can then download this as a pdf and/or print it off and keep it in their notes. This will create a solution bank and they can go through this in their own time again and see where they have made a mistake. I will create short assessments every few weeks to see if they are improving and make sure I am catering my lesson plans to each individual student's needs.

I am very motivating and always encouraging my students to do better. I believe having great confidence in the subject will allow students to stay motivated and try harder even if they get a question wrong. It has not been long ago since I done my GCSE or Alevel, so I believe it is easier for me to teach students seen as I was also once in their position.
