Hello! My name is Sophie, and I am a trained Teach English as a Foreign Language teacher. I am passionate about creating fun, interesting and helpful lessons. Why do I enjoy teaching so much? I love helping people achieve their goals and see their potential. Sometimes, we all need a bit of encouragement. Also, I am inspired by languages, and the world. In fact, I even studied languages at university!

This means that I understand how grammar works. I can help you build your English using techniques I have learned. I also really enjoy teaching pronunciation - I am actually also a singer/ songwriter and even done theatre shows too. Therefore, I understand the power of our voices - and from this standpoint I know a lot about diction, accent and pronunciation.

It is my joy to help people improve their English, because I know how many doors it will open for them! Being able to speak great English will help you find new jobs, meet new people and explore so much of the world!

Also, I am a creative; I also write music and perform. Creativity is there in all that I do. I believe that a bit of creativity helps us learn, so for example, I like to put fun, interactive games in our lessons, to make the learning memorable. Who says learning can't be fun?

My current student, from Italy, was struggling with her pronunciation. I have helped her a lot, through games, but also listening to myself, and doing a lot of repetition. I am proud to say, I helped her get into the university she wanted, and she has said that she used to 'not like English that much, and preferred Russian and Spanish. However, since working with me, she now prefers English' Because she feels confident.

I can help with grammar, speech, pronunciation, vocabulary and preparation for exams if needed. Let me know what it is you would like help with. Conversations are simply helpful; just talking in slow, clear English and feeling able to make mistakes, is how we learn.
