English Literature tutor

I have an A grade in English Literature A level and a First in BA Anthropology. Through studying these subjects, I have acquired a number of key skills, such as critical analysis and essay writing. In my tutoring sessions I would ensure that I teach these important skills, in accessible and engaging ways.
I am familiar with the AQA exam board specification at GCSE and A level, and am willing to learn additional board specifications.
I greatly recognise the importance of examination success in ensuring students can reach the next academic level, and in securing opportunities in their futures. However I also strongly believe that education itself is greatly important , and that schools can often lose sight of this in the drive to ensure students get the highest grades. In my tutoring sessions I aim to engage students with the material they are learning. Analysing poetry and prose can be a fascinating and rewarding endeavour and I will seek to ensure that my students have this experience. In my experience, enjoying the content encourages greater engagement and in turn leads to higher academic achievement.
