I spent time as a private tutor in high school, mentoring a handful of students in AP coursework like English and History. As a graduate student, I spent my first year working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. This allowed me to work with students for whom English is a second language, as well as students living neurodivergence. This was an excellent primer in the breadth of technical skill that modern teaching requires.
