College and High School tutor for STEM, Psychology, Economics, Geography, Computer Science & programming

Advert description
Starting with my graduate studies at Texas State University in San Marcos I have been teaching and tutoring math and computer science for over fifteen years. I have been a tutor at various ACC campuses since 2012. I have taught math for the Alamo colleges in San Antonio since the fall of 2019. (Detailed Bio Below) ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ “I am always learning, and when I learn I contribute in a career sense. That is why I am a tutor. This is all part of the journey.”- Stephen Gross He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, where he was the first-ever triple major. With majors in Political Science, German, and Economics, he did a lot of interdisciplinary study, reading and writing. A Geography, Math, and Economics tutor at ACC, he also teaches at Alamo Colleges in San Antonio and has been a substitute teacher in public and charter schools. “Geography and economics link together very nicely: The economic growth that a country is seeing is impacted by the countries that border it,” says Stephen. Like the ACC students he supports, Stephen is a lifelong learner. After working for a decade in various trades and roles, he went back to school and got a Masters degree in Mathematics from Texas State and right after that earned a lot of credits toward a Masters in Computer Science. After taking time off from his academic journey to care for his health, he is currently earning a Masters Degree in Data Science at Texas State. He is also co-enrolled in graduate programs in both Data Analysis and Information Systems (MSDAIS), and Quantitative Finance and Economics (MSQFE), economics being the data domain that interests him most. He is currently applying for a graduate assistantship that requires ArcGIS experience. He is currently learning Python, a very important language for GIS and Data Science: “Python is much easier than C++.” He lives in San Marcos, teaches for Alamo Colleges in San Antonio, and tutors for ACC.
