Advert description
Hello, I’m Mark, a bilingual native Russian speaker, who has achieved a 9 at GCSE and an A* at A level in Russian. Having completed both qualifications in the last few years, I have first-hand knowledge of the exam requirements and what is needed to achieve the highest grades.
As someone who has recently been through these exams myself, I understand the challenges students face and can offer practical advice from personal experience. I aim to create a friendly, relaxed and encouraging environment where you can build confidence in Russian, particularly when it comes to speaking. Rather than feeling like a strict classroom lesson, I want my sessions to be more like having a conversation with a friend, while still providing focused, professional guidance to help you progress.
I would also highly welcome anyone who is not currently preparing for an exam, but is determined to improve their conversational Russian and find out more about the fascinating culture and history of the Russian-speaking world.
Whether you are looking to improve your speaking, strengthen your writing, or prepare for an upcoming exam, I can tailor lessons to your individual needs and look forward to sharing my experience and passion for this intriguing language.
I offer GCSE and A-level Russian speaking tutoring, as well as general Russian conversation practice and support with writing and grammar.
For exam preparation, I can provide detailed advice on exam technique and use a range of up-to-date materials to practise the topics and question types you will encounter in your exams. Lessons can involve working through exam-style questions, followed by personalised feedback on how to improve the content, accuracy and pronunciation of your answers.
I can also look through written work and provide advice on spelling, grammar, structure and formatting, helping you make sure your answers meet the requirements of the exam.
Alternatively, we can focus on general Russian conversation. We can discuss a range of topics in Russian, helping you become more confident and comfortable speaking naturally, or practise the language you are likely to need for everyday situations and real-life conversations.
